For more than 30 years painter Jan Drynan has lived and worked on a cattle property in an isolated valley in the southern border ranges of the Scenic Rim. This landscape inspires her work. Her paintings depict well known scenes in the area. Each is carefully worked until the artist is satisfied with the emotional tone of the work.
The places Drynan depicts mean a great deal to her as she has lived there for so long. Her paintings take a long time to do and are rich in detail.

Jennifer Seale studied watercolour painting at Brisbane Art School in 1982, after getting a taste for the medium while completing a Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture at QIT.
After moving to Mt. Barney in 1994 her interest was rekindled. She was living in an area of incredible beauty, mountains and creeks, old sheds and beautiful old Queenslander homesteads which are her specialty.
Seale’s paintings are all in watercolour, although she also enjoys appliqué quilting, cloth doll making and gardening.

The main theme for Wayne Singleton’s block prints is “place”. The images for his work come from special places within a few hours drive of Brisbane. These places have become part of who he is as an artist.
When Singleton draws, he draws himself into the place. These drawings often stray a long way from his original observations. Before a drawing makes it onto a block it will have been redrawn four or five times. New things are observed and new relationships between elements in the composition are found.
